We are Derek and Christine, and we know what it’s like to have sensitive skin that causes reactions to everyday commercial products. That’s why we created Better Butter Care, to take the guess work out of skin care and provide premium ingredients in luxurious every day products.

Located in the west end of Toronto, Ontario, we have owned and operated our tattoo studio, Lewis Family Tattoo Company, since 2009. Derek has been a tattoo artist for 30+ years so he knows a thing or two about the healing processes of skin and Christine has sensitive skin and allergies, not only to foods and fragrances, but to industrial ingredients as well. Think gluten free, soy free, egg free, dairy free - but not fun free!

We started formulating Original Formula Better Butter Care, our signature flagship body butter, as a tattoo glide and aftercare that was full of skin repair ingredients, and was not petroleum based. Cocoa butter, babassu seed oil and calendula oil all have heavy duty anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial skin repair action, which is perfect for after tattooing or just to keep your daily skin at it's best.

For both professional and personal use, we really wanted to feel confident about the quality of the ingredients we were using for ourselves, our friends, our family, and our clients so Better Butter Care's body butters, lotions and lip balms are all made with plant-based ingredients, in small batches, by hand, to maintain quality.
